Found my 6th Bat W tonight. This one seems to be in great shape. I am a novice, can anyone help me out with a grade estimate? Is it worth sending in?
Caveat: I'm horrible at grading from a picture. Only "eh" in real life. Opinion: My guesstimate, without seeing the reverse, would be VF+ to AU - probably VF (high end) to EF. Caveat: I'm not a fan of third party graders and locking coins up for life. Opinion: I don't think it would be worth it. I think it costs a pretty penny to get a coin graded and sealed in plastic. And I don't think the value of your circulated quarter to any collector would much exceed the cost of sending it it. I'm certain more experienced graders and TPG-fans will give you their opinions. In any case, I consider you very lucky! I have never held a W quarter. I have never found one, despite looking with some religious fervor. Very best regards and welcome to CoinTalk! David
Thanks for your input, David. I am now up to 41 total and just need the last two 2020’s to complete my full set of W’s (including 2019’s). This bat seems to be in better condition than most I have found. I have already cased them all in some plastic coin holders with a foam insert from amazon. I hope you get to find some W’s soon!
I'm at approx $27 per coin. They will have the early find pedigree added to them. That includes shipping and return shipping.
Oh yeah...I think I just might’ve chosen the wrong career path...who knew you could make so much looking at a coin??? Thanks for the info. I’ve never sent a coin in but I have always wanted to.
