Hmm.... do you collect books? Or are you planning on using these as references? Or is there some other reason you bought them?

I'm just asking because they aren't rare, they aren't in good condition, and they aren't very useful as references.

I'm glad you like them, though, and I hope you find a good use for them.

 

I think they're interesting and have some value for: the history, the (copyrighted) pictures, the insights and historical pricing data.

 

I think the PhotoGrade is still relevant.

Most have considerably more information then "price guides".. no they are not good as price guides hell the new 2021 red book i got last month is basicly useless for that and it's brand new, but all very good reference volumes. as for condition... they are all 100% usable/readable any dings or marks don't matter. as for "Rare" no they are not but "new" each one costs $50+ NEW so $10 for the 4 is a damn good deal and quite RARE at that price... Lastly If you ain't got nothing nice or even "correct" to say STHU.... Thank you all (yeah I used H instead of F don't need a vacation with Green18 )

 

That appears to be a very old edition of Photograde. I'm not sure what year. I'll say two things - the pictures have improved over the years, and the standards have changed. If you're using a very old edition, it isn't going to be relevant to today's market.

For reference - I have recently started going through a collection assembled in the 60s - many of the coins are labelled F or VF which would today be considered EF or maybe even AU. There's also an old copy of Photograde in the box.

I was asking why you were excited about these books because I personally didn't seen any value in them, but you seemed to be pleased and I was genuinely curious why you were excited about them. That question may have not translated the way I intended, and you seem to have taken offense.

And putting together a set of references that allows you to quantify that seems like a VERY interesting proposition.
