now there is nothing wrong with this coin just a worn old penny but it was a gift from my sister in law some years ago which i thought was a neat gift and this isn't the only coin gift i have gotten in my life

most are world coins i was given by my wife's family

ever had coins give to you by friends and family as gifts?

but here is the 1932d Wheat penny (yeah i know the pics suck but what did you expect from a old webcam and i know my cropping is off)

Photos are good enough to show what you wanted us to see. I have a few given by family. Sentimental value only.

This was given to me this past Christmas by my son in law. Needless to say I was very pleased.

People who might give me a gift would be highly unlikely to give me a coin.
They all know little or nothing about numismatics.

    One gift exception.
Back around 1971 my wife gave me a "brown Ike".
    That re-started me collecting coins.
Little did she realize what she had started.
Except for the 1980's when I went back to stamps (thanks to the Hunt brothers), it's been a steady diet of coins.
Haven't regretted a moment of it.

my wife, her friends and family all have given me banknotes and coins as gifts despite they really don't understand the hobby i'm into, but it's the gesture that counts in my book

they know i collect banknotes and coins so to them that is a perfect gift to give me

A friend gave me a small box full of his father's coins. Nothing spectacular but some decent Indians and Wheaties. But, I appreciated the gift.

I did a small job for a friend, and would not let him pay me. He knew that I liked coins, and found out that I didn't have a gold coin. So, thanks to him, I got my first gold coin.

    Hello Ken,
We should all be so lucky to have such a friend.
Kindness is indeed many times rewarded.

Isn't family great, you are very fortunate. The coin may not have a lot of value but it does have a whole lot of love, it's a keeper!

hey Silverpop i think you did a great job with your pictures. they zoom in nicely. and that coin being a gift from your sister was something she knew you would love. keep it for as long as you live brother, not everybody gets gifts from loved ones like that........

image.jpg image.jpg Other than the coins I’ve gotten through our Secret Santa, this is the only coin I’ve gotten as a gift. One of my friends who doesn’t collect coins gave it to me as a Christmas gift this year.
