It is struck on a planchet that was punched out of a Nickel stock sheet rolled a bit thicker than normal. Slightly above tolerance. Nothing really major. It will never make it on the cover of CoinWorld magazine.
need help come on guys... Are ya starving for attention? If so, you might want to search this site for heavy or light weight planchets.
The normal weight of a nickel is 5g (+/- 0.194g) Your coin is only slightly more than 1/10th of a gram above tolerance. @paddyman98 gave you the most likely reason why.
You might want to buy a set of calibration weights( standards) so you can see how much your balance is off. Just Taring the balance doesn't set it proper. Jim
Having searched a couple thousand pounds of nickels, and weighed a few hundred, there are many that are over/under by a little. Very few are off by more than .1 gram Even with circulation they don’t vary much. I pulled some from BU rolls for this test
