    Its copper too. Are these guys worth anything? I heard they are kind of rare.

    It's zinc with a thin copper plate.

    2.5 grams - zinc
    3.11 grams - copper

    Worth 1 cent.

    82 D small date copper is a very rare beast. I am guessing it weighs 2.7g and is zinc plated and not copper at 3.1g.

    Did you weigh the coin? IMO, judging by your photo it appears to be a copper plated zinc cent. It has plating bubbles all over the obverse.
