If it makes you feel any better...I sorted out a bunch of the 82 series to establish a roll for each mm/metal. Made the rolls...dumped the rest. About 6 months later I started hearing about the elusive Small Date copper (and the 83 copper cent). Those cents I hoarded for months were long, long gone.
I got over 300 more pounds of 1900-1999 to go through still in this jar we got lots been saving for yrs
That sounds like fun. I got lucky one day at the bank. I arrived just after someone dumped about $100 of copper: 1959-1979. I looked for varieties and found a number of higher grade finds. Apparently these were just put into the jar over those 2 decades so they were in very nice shape. It took me about 5 years to string together enough days to manage the lot.
Yea I feel that but now I’m disabled this keeps my hands going. I just posted a picture of a 82 that’s got some weird marks on back an yes there’s damage
Yes...I make these from time-to-time when I forget some change in the little pocket of my jeans. The coin gets trapped between the spinning drum and the fixed basin of the washing machine. After a couple cycles, you have a cent just like that. Sorry to hear about your disability but pleased you are working to overcome it. My eyesight is failing as I age, but I keep pushing up the magnification of my readers so I can continue to do the hobby I love. Sometimes the loss forces new tactics, and can be frustrating at times, but I love the hobby so it's a price I will pay. I wish you success in your endeavor there.
Thank you and I’ve always collected coins just never looked at them. I still have my 1st cent I ever made at 6-7 yrs old. I appreciate your help
