    Hey guys,

Recent Variety Find! This is my second 2019 WDDO-011 Shield Cent that I have found in circulation, and it is a beauty! I wanted to share this find as it is definitely one of the more dramatic doubled die errors for the 2019 year! This is also listed as 2019P-1DO-010 on CopperCoins and DDO-001 by CONECA.

EDIT: I attached an image of a normal 2019 date for anyone wanting to compare.

    Thanks for looking!

He said he just attached a reference image, he wasn't asking you to do anything. I have to admit though that I can't tell which is the reference.

If you look at the indexing (naming/numerical conventions in image sequence) of the images themselves, it's easy to pick which one was added to the post: the last coin he added was : IMG_5285.jpg. That would be the "reference" image he was speaking of.

EDIT: added image below for comparison for OP.

    Cheers.

Thanks, looks kind of like split plate doubling to me, but then again, what do I know...

Yeah shield cent doubling is odd, I think because of the minting process now as opposed to earlier years, but once you look at enough of them, you begin to notice haha.

See the tootsie roll effect on the date? The uneven dimensions of each digit?
Add in the extra thickness. Most folks will look for notching or split serif's but on some weak examples this never happens.

If you can see the extra thickness on the date, click on the photo of Liberty. You can then see the notching and also extra thickness.
