Love those torn corners. Old superstition of tearing the corner to prevent bad luck. tearing corners off of $2
Good theory on why it was let go. Cashiers hate them for the same reason they hate halves and dollar coins, there's no slot for those in the registers.
15 years ago there was a dealer/seller in Singapore who bought VG/Fine notes and resold them as VF/EF after soaking them in cold tea and then pressing them. For a while he made a handsome living.
Looks like it was stashed in someone's wallet for a long while..surprised at no small rips nor really bad stains....somebody decided not to make that last losing bet at the race track..still a nice bill....
That note looks it got run over by a train...LOL, still a cool find but because of its condition not much over $2 maybe $2.50...LOL
thats a great find. just goes to show you that people are out of work and broke when they start spending red and blue seal currency and silver dollars. it will truly be a good day when this virus is gone and or everyone is vaccinated.
I did the books on weekends for a large chain grocery store about 20 years ago, and I found a few $2 bills in bundles of singles sent to us from Wells Fargo; found a 1957 $10 bill in a pack, too, that was almost as crisp as the day it was printed.
