    Are these coin of any value and is it called a chip?

    It's not a chip... the surface is raised and I can't remember what they're called

    Yes, they are minor die chips. The formal term is Internal Die Break, but I've always used die chip

    I think die chips are interesting but they seem to be much more prevalent on dimes and quarters in the last 5-10 years. Unfortunately, chips like these don't add any extra value to the coin

    Definitely Die Chips..
    Due to worn Dies. Very Small premium. But only worth what a collector is willing to pay for them.
    $1.00 maybe $1.50

    Die chips...die breaks...IDB's...same difference! You can save them if you want, and in five years, you'll probably have a thousand of them worth face value.
