    Hello!

I hav a little collection on SLQs and 6 of them are quite nice. Probably not MS, but I would be happy with someone else giving an opinion on their grades?

For my own records I labeled them all as AU50 since I pick the catalog values from the Red Book, but I have a feeling that at least a couple could grade a bit higher.

I have also been reluctant to register them much higher because of the “flat head” on some of them, but not sure if that’s how their are supposed to be or due to a weak strike. Have also heard about the “full head” designation without being completely sure if any of these are.

Here are some obverse photos. Just let me know if you need to see the reverse too, to give an opinion.

    Thanks for any comments!

    Those are very nice coins.
Most of them look untouched and not cleaned.
But for proper grading we need pictures of the Reverse.

Most of them seem to be at least AU58 if not low MS. The 1930 on the bottom right has been cleaned. Other than that, those quarters are very attractive, the 1917 especially.

Keep in mind that the Red Book does not give accurate market value and is really only for insurance evaluations. When it comes to $100+ coins, the auction records on https://www.pcgs.com/coinfacts are a good source.

This site might help you with grading in the future https://www.pcgs.com/photograde#/SLQe/Grades

Based on just the obverse, I'll start at:

1924 - AU Details, scratched (1:00 rim to shield)
    1930-S - AU53
    1930 - MS Details, cleaned
    1927 - AU55
    1917-D - AU55FH
    1926 - AU58FH

Thank you! Its actually just taken with a regular iPhone 11 camera without any special settings or photo edits. Just direct light.

I have actually been trying to take better photos of my collection using a Nikon D5000 with a 60mm macro lens, but need to work on that a bit to get better photos. But if the iPhone does the job, it’s all good

    Thank you for the information!

I have an older android phone and the camera is not good for coins. I've noticed my daughter's iphone takes amazing pictures and video.

Nice pictures for a phone. No changes to my grades based on the new pictures.

My iPad (before it broke) took amazing pictures... All of the pictures from my posts are taken from the same camera but since I got this kindle fire I can't take a single decent pictures... The camera just won't focus on coins... Thats why some of my pictures are repeats... I can't take any new ones

I think Messydesk did a fine job assessing those quarters. It's always nice when folks post such good quality photos when requesting opinions!

    I found my type 2b key date. Solid G4, maybe G6? Polish_20210119_213852907.jpg
