I made a little webpage linked above to assist my friend and fellow numismatist, Mike Ellis, to gain a nomination for American Numismatic Association Governor in this year's election.

All of the details that ANA members and ANA clubs would need to participate in the process are provided on the website.

Please take a look and then act quickly before the March 31st deadline and feel free to contact me, or Mike Ellis with any other questions.

    Thank you.

    Sincerely,
    Edwin Johnston - edi@hal-pc.org

My local coin club nominated him at our last meeting. We also had a nomination sheet for individual members. I think he would make a good governor.

    That's great!
My club declined to help nominate any candidates at all this year.

Wow! That's two out of five clubs needed from this very list!
I'm currently president of the Greater Houston Coin Club.

I emailed Mike Ellis the link to this thread to show him that folks are reporting that clubs have nominated him, which I'm sure he'll be glad to hear.
In the meantime, check out his blog (or my webpage in the OP above) to find out more about Mike Ellis.

    OK, Ziggy!
I just received the ANA e-Newsletter and visited the ANA Election Headquarters page and found out that Mike Ellis is apparently a nominee already.
    Here's a link for that:

    Hello All,
I am taking up your offer and would like to tell you more about myself.

I am Mike Ellis and am running for the ANA Board of Governors this time around. Having become a collector in 1968, I have over 20 years experience as a professional numismatist and numismatic educator. I served 12 years as a board member and officer of CONECA; a total of six terms with the last eight years and 4 terms as President. An instructor for ANA Summer Seminars since 1996, I have given several Numismatic Theater presentations at ANA Anniversary Conventions and made many educational appearances at other shows and club meetings across the country. Currently, I am the Senior Grader and Variety Specialist for Dominion Grading Service (DGS) of Virginia Beach, Virginia. I am also an accomplished numismatic writer having penned a column for “Numismatic News,” served as editor of “Errorscope” and “Cherrypickers’ News,” edited “Cherrypickers’ Guide to Rare Die Varieties, 4th Edition, Volume I” for which I received an NLG Award, penned numerous articles for several numismatic publications, contributed to dozens of numismatic publications. For my efforts on behalf of collectors and dealers this life member of the ANA and CONECA has been awarded the ANA’s “Glenn Smedly Award” and CONECA’s highest honor, the “Dr. Lyndon King Award.”

You can read a more extensive list of my hobby contributions on my "about me" page on eBay; user name mikelellis . Also, I encourage you to follow my election blog at www.mikeellisforanagovernor.blogspot.com .

Most importantly is the vital, mostly behind-the-scenes, part I played in the positive changes the ANA has made in the past couple of years. Feel free to ask any questions either here or on my blog site and I will do my best to answer them all.

    Thank you for your consideration!
    Sincerely,
    Mike Ellis

    Mike,

My local coin club approved your nomination (along with a few others for various positions) at our last club meeting. You have my vote for governor. I think you would be great in that position.

We met at ANA Summer Seminar last year. You may remember looking at my $3 Gold. Thanks for your opinion on that piece.

I do remember. Thank your club for the support and thank you for yours! Just so you will know, I will be at the CO Springs coin show between weeks and at seminar for the second week teaching beginning grading. As usual, I so look forward to Summer Seminar each year!
