    Also, I'm guessing that people who say they want to be moderators immediately get moved to the bottom of the list. Kinda wish we could do the same with candidates for [self-edited]...

    We often disagree with the moderators, but as a whole, I think they do a pretty good job. It ain’t a job I’d campaign for. LOL.

    They get drafted, or at least invited. And it's not a public process, except for announcements like this when a new one is promoted.

    Another site I belong to got some edited poster promoted to moderator.....I got banned for 1 month for the crime of "Site Bashing" :D by asking why a post of mine got deleted and that it was ridiculous.

    1st-rate dirtbag ! :cigar:

    They are hand picked by me most of the time, and sometimes Peter picks one. But none are ever approved unless we both approve.

    Nope, neither one has anything to do with it. I don't care if you don't know obv from rev, or even what a coin is ! Mods are chosen based on the type of person they are - honest, trustworthy, fair, and capable of being 100% impartial all the time. And, willing to enforce the rules even if you disagree with them.

    There are no time requirements at all. Mods can come and go as they please and if and when they please. Work as much as they want or as little as they want - if they want !

    Don't need to do with a smile but yeah you gotta do it.

    Yup. And checks go out the 2nd Tuesday of each week ;)

    There is no list, never has been. But anyone who ever ask or has asked to be a moderator, is never given a moment's consideration.

    I would think offering to help out and volunteer would be something you would want to prioritize. Since it's not a paid job, I assume you're not overflowing with resumes. :D

    Yes, seriously. Why ? Because more often than not when someone ask for a job giving them power, they end up abusing that power. And that's the last person who should actually have it.

    Give it another 40 or 50 years and you'll come to understand that.

    And there are no resumes, nor are any ever asked for.

    Some are cut out for job and others aren't. And you also have to realize, and always remember, that in some cases they (the mods) are only doing what they are told to do.
