I found this penny while coin roll hunting. As the title suggests, this appears to be a No FG - Floating Roof variety. However, keep in mind, as you watch the video, that I zoom in on the letters of "AMERICA". I see what appear to be old remnants of some sort of doubling? I pause slightly on each letter, but you can pause it as well for a better look. As a beginner in this hobby, I cannot identify what is there or speculate as to how it happened but I can guess that what I am seeing is Machine Doubling? Any input? Apparently I can not upload the video here so I am just posting a link to take you to the video on my Facebook page... https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10158213368623323
Hey Jeff . Nice video ! Only second time I've seen someone do that . Nice floating roof . As far as doubling , I really didn't see anything . Take Care .
You can share a link from YouTube which is what I do with my personal videos.. No videos can be uploaded directly on CoinTalk.
Yes to Floating Roof. It's considered an overpolished die issue. It's neat but it's not really recognized as a true Mint Error.
A helpful hint. The more of the background you crop away the larger the coin image will appear on screen
Looks like the initials are there but extremely faint. The roof is the floating variety. Nice find! Congrats!!
As already stated, an over polished die. It mostly removed the initials and the roof connection. Not uncommon so NAV.
