I thought this was a nice looking coin, but now am not so sure. Does anyone want to venture a grade on it ?
What's an AU slider? Somewhere between an AU and an EF? I was going to guess EF40, the head dress is a bit hard to see, but I'm a dangerous newb with a brand new ANA Grading Standards book
Usually the term slider refers to an AU coin that is incredibly close to, or could pass as an MS coin.
Hard to tell with scans but I'd say AU. Not worth a grade IMO. Looks like some corrosion too on the obverse.
Thanks, I was on the wrong end of the "in-between" scale, looks like I better get back to readin' too. I think it's a great coin, love the luster on the obverse around the face.
From the image, I would say AU. Not sure that the dark area is corrosion of toning to a deeper chocolate brown. Jim
If that is tone AU-55, if not XF-40 If that is tone AU-55, if not XF-40 - if what ever the dark stuff is has eat into the coin XF-40 at best. If not AU-details
A decent 35/40 but with issues. The hair is just starting to merge with the ribbon on the obverse. Then, you have corrosion or something on the right half obverse that distracts..... It is also the most common date produced in the entire series.
If you could get us better pictures of the obverse, that would be great. Try using a digital camera instead of a scanner.
