I'm guessing 64. Nevertheless, I think a bit of rub as well as weakly struck center.

Lots of good guesses so far. I'll post the grade this evening.

I am really considering a collection of these and will preface my guess in that I have little experience in eyeing and grading this series, but want to keep this post for my reference and learning.

That being said, I feel there is flattening with the olive branch and the hand holding it. I also feel the center of the reverse to the leg of the eagle is also flattened and am guessing from wear given the central aspect of the coin, though may be from poor strike? Luster may give a bump, but I am leaning toward AU 55.

This is a good GTG coin but now I have to wait all day. Ugh

Thanks for all the guesses and comments! Personally, I think this coin is more of a 64, but the luster is somewhat subdued by the toning. Several folks thought it looked AU, which I can understand, without having it in hand. There is no actual wear on the coin, just the single tiny gray spot on the right side of the breastplate. There are hardly any marks, but 2 tiny tics that are toned in on the right obv field, that you really have to search for. Strike is about average for the issue, I think; there is some thumb separation and "ok" head detail. It's definitely one of those coins you need to see in person to fully appreciate, my photo skills don't do it justice. Have a great weekend everyone!

Thank you but I did survive, although it was touch and go for a short time. Lol

I'm glad it graded that high.

It looks like there are two more gray spots, one below the breastplate and another one next to Liberty’s left hand. I trust your judgement though, as you’ve seen the coin in hand.
