I grew up on a farm and let me tell you the stuff I did was absolutely crazy. I had access to blasting caps, fertilizer, black powder, cutting torches, welders and more chemicals than a refinery has. I learned to blow things up at an early age. Dad you to remove stumps with dynamite and I got to help. He's learning to doctor coins. Ice
Haha. What would have been funny is for me to have ask the pharmacist for some fertilizer (KNO3) :goofer: dd:  Garrett
Another way to fix that coin is to purchase some Potasium Nitrate. Mix carefully with that Sulfur and add some Charcoal. About 75% Potatsium Nitrate, 15% sulfur, 10% Charcoal. Take that mixture, place in a metal tube, seal one end, place coin in the other end, leave room for a wick and light said wick. RUN
Surprised noone has mentioned a silver/peroxide rocket http://science.howstuffworks.com/question159.htm
how did this go from torturing a coin to bomb making and ways to blow stuff up. Jeeez. I'm not going to tell you my stories.... Its for y'alls safety and Mine. I don't want any unwanted knocks on my door. Be careful Freaky. And watch out Freaky's mom. LOL I love it. That is one of the coolest coins I've ever seen.
Fair enough. I tossed a few coins on the charcoal grill last summer because I was making some burgers and bored. Looked pretty nasty but betting they smelled better than yours. 12oz for only $8! What a bargain! It's on my list - of course I have no idea what I'll do with it.
you forgot to use one of mans most trusted and basic tools, a hammer, bigger the better.:hammer: maybe you could make your own version of a re-strike with that annealled planchet. sorry about the spelling it late.
All I can say is WOW! The most I ever did was use Brass-O on wheat cents. It would shine them up soo bright and good! Speedy
This was good - the best laugh I had in a while. I kept skipping the post cause I just thought it was another "coin cleaning" yes or no discussion. Wish I had read it sooner. Hands on experiments are the best way to learn sometimes. And in this case it sounds like "you all" as a family had fun with it. Great Story.
