Well people will sure bid and overpay for anything won't they? Wouldn't you know it, seller doesn't accept returns. Wonder how the eBay money back guarantee will stand up against the title "weak d" Screenshot_20210101-071745_eBay.jpg Screenshot_20210101-071834_eBay.jpg Screenshot_20210101-071845_eBay.jpg Screenshot_20210101-071855_eBay.jpg Screenshot_20210101-071923_eBay.jpg

"Weak D"? Looks more like "No D" to me.

Can I get some advice? On Christmas day I bid & won 4 $2.5 Indian head gold coins, #1 ngc unc details #2 pci ms63 #3&#4 Both raw but could be au-unc I paid $340-$360 per coin. I won them easily, did I overpay or get lucky? The bidding was VERY slow. Thanks, Greg

@morganman 61. Welcome to CT. I'm going to offer some kindly advice. Please start a new thread if it is "off topic." I had difficulty figuring out how to do that when I first joined. If you need advice, just ask. Otherwise, you'll catch heck from others, but, more importantly, your question will be lost in someone else's thread.

It is ONLY MY OPINION, but, I make it a practice of not doing business with any eBay seller that makes the statement "Seller does not accept returns" If he/she is legit and has a product for sale that individual should stand behind his product. I know for a FACT that there is an auction house out of Springfield, MO that recently obtained the left overs from a coin shop that went out of business, said coin shop frequently purchased fakes (knowingly/unknowingly) and then when he found out the coins were fake he resold them. The auction house may or may not know this but he makes the statement that all coins are sold 'AS IS". JMO

When I was active on eBay, I used to play games with the sellers that did not accept returns.

    Seller: Returns not accepted.

    Me: Do you accept returns?

    Seller: Read the listing!

Me: Why? All I want to know is do you accept returns.

    Seller: Blocked!

Now, if you get 50-100 people to do this every time, the seller will probably develop an ulcer.:)

The first thing I look at when I'm considering a coin on eBay is does the seller have 100% rating and do they offer returns. If the answer is no on either I move on.

I give a little leeway on feedback. If it is not 100% positive, and I want the item, I go to their feedback details to find out WHY it is not 100%. There are some dipwad buyers out there that can NEVER be satisfied.

Years ago I was selling some of my watches on eBay to refocus my collection and I sold a Patek to a guy in Australia who had lots of questions. The ones I couldn't answer I referred him to Patek for answers to, as they will provide detailed info on a variety of questions. He gave me neutral feedback for not answering his questions which hung around my feedback neck for a year or so, which really infuriated me. I rarely give bad feedback as I rarely have a bad experience, sometimes I will decline to leave feedback if I'm displeased - someone says they shipped something on one date and does so a week later (pre-covid), that sort of thing.

Here is the "Heck" @Stevearino mentioned. You need to start your own post with good photos that are FULL IMAGE. Welcome to CT and good luck.

The seller may be about to receive an education on eBay's "Significantly Not As Described" policy.

That looks like a genuine 1916 "no D" Mercury dime. Surely worth a couple of bucks, or am I being too generous?
