We would need better pictures to know for sure.

From what I can see, she's a beaut. From this picture, the surfaces look slick enough to warrant a PL designation. DMPL? Not sure.

Not a chance, even based on those pics the coin does not have the surfaces that would qualify it as DMPL.

Easy test for you to tell - hold some printed text, like a business card, 6 to 8 inches in front of the coin. If you can clearly read the text in the reflection on the coin (just like you could with a mirror) then the coin would qualify as DMPL. If you can't - it isn't.

I will try the reflectivity test. It just seemed so much more bright and shiny than my other coins that I wondered if it was PL or DMPL. I actually have about 12 of these, presumably from the same roll. They were included in a larger group of Morgans I purchased recently.

Anyone think this could be an MS65 or 66?

Nice coin , it may be PL . When you hold it and let the light bounce back at you like a mirror it should almost look black . The PL and DMPL designations are based on how far away it acts like a mirror .

From the pics it's hard to tell but I think there's a chance at 65 or 66 , but would need better pics to tell .

    Leadfoot there is no spoon

Could be PL, no chance of DMPL, IMO.

Not a huge amount. Could not read the business card 8" away. I could see my fingers in the reflection and I could see the card, just not much detail. Does that mean it's not PL either?

If you can read the text at 2-3 inches away, it's PL.
