Picked these up from the bank back in '74! Just broke them out now! IMG_20201230_223610.jpg IMG_20201230_223624.jpg

I don't know, they are gorgeous! Started coin collecting at 10 years old, got these from the bank when I was 11 and just tucked them away!

"Should of" is improper usage. "Should've" or "should have" is correct.

Definitely! Unfortunately I could only afford pennies at 11 years old! It was a 2 mile walk to the bank in Detroit back in the day, and the tellers weren't too friendly with kids wanting to buy rolls of cents!

Sal, I did accumulate quite a few silver Kennedy's throughout the 70s, but sold them all off for gas money around 1980!

Wow, that's quite the penny potty!

I've seen a few of these penny tiles before and always liked them!

LOL...you gave me a flashback to sitting in my parents station wagon pouring over rolls of cents to find all the wheatbacks we could before they finished breakfast at a local diner. Just be pleasant, demonstrate good manners, and good things should happen. Terrific finds nonetheless!! Also, that particular date is an interesting one. Do some investigation about large and small date varieties. As I understand it, a member here spent some time and established various die pairings for the date/mm. Some pairings are harder to find than others, so have a look and let us know what you see. Good luck...and don't forget to use the Search tool here. I'm sure you can find an old thread that talks about the die pairings within the last 2 years I think.

Station Wagons were the bomb back in the 70s! Especially the ones with the rear facing back seats!

Thanks Kevin! I'll check that out.

I'm really surprised how nice these cents have toned, not to mention some look like no marks on them!

My grandmother got me hooked on crossword puzzles when I was five. Before I turned ten, she had to hide them from me.

You know...good enough to get you to work and back...but picking up a date was awkward.
