OK, so I'm thinking about putting together a couple small contests...or maybe just one medium size contest. What would you guys prefer. I think I can scrounge up a few (3 or 4 probably) $1 star notes from my collection that I don't need. They are all circulation finds and not worth much...but they are neat and a fun thing to find. Anyway, I have been thinking about holding a couple small themed contests and giving out 1 or 2 notes for each. These contests wouldn't be trivia based like my last one (which I know was hard)...but more of a "20 questions" style guessing game where you would ask me a yes/no type question and try and figure out something. I guess what I'm wondering is if you guys would be interested in participating in a contest with a small prize like that. If so, would you prefer to have multiple small contests with a small prize each or one larger (and more challenging contest) with all the notes lumped together as a prize? If we did them lumped together...I'd probably have a couple "rounds." Anyway, what are your thoughts? I plan on starting one in a couple weeks.
I just have fun playing and learning and appreciate every contest. I can't recall a 20?'s contest. Sounds cool.
These beggars would play for a 1978 Lincoln cent in AG-3. :mouth: You could have a 4,000 question contest that would last a year, with one of your star notes as a prize, and you'd still have everybody playing, just because they enjoy the heck out of a challenge. In other words, don't worry about the sufficiency of a prize. Competition and camaraderie are what matter.
Fair enough. Well, I have to have the notes in hand before I start a contest and they are back home safely locked up with my collection. I'm going home in a couple weeks and I'll pick some out then. Once I have them here at my apartment (I'm away at school)...I'll start a contest. So far it looks like you guys prefer several small contests to one larger one. That's fine with me.
Frank was right - this was tough. I voted for several smaller contests so others have a better chance to win. I mean I did just find my first beat up star note in 2009.
That's what I think I'm going to do. I'm thinking about 2, maybe 3 contests. They may only have 1 note each (maybe one will have 2...we'll see). But, I think it will be fun and will require more reasoning than knowledge. Give me a couple weeks and we will get going with it. :thumb:
