I scored 40 sequential $5 star notes, 2003A, serial starts with FF... no flaws, or misalign... but I was wondering roughly what are these worth? How much more does a set of sequential bills bring? Also, how do I determine where these were printed and any other useful info? Thanks for the help. NeW-B
The Series 2003 A "F" is the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, Georgia. On the lower right side of the note you may see a small FW, this means they were printed in Fort Worth, TX- Printing Branch of the BEP for distrbution out of Atlanta Fed bank. As a matter of fact, all notes were printed in FW for this issue. Currently they are listed in Schwartz/Lindquist at $50 ea in chcu There were 4,352,000 notes printed. It is also showing that only 3 districts issued star notes: New York, Atlanta and Chicago. 40 notes in sequence to the right collector could prove lucrative for you. Nice finds..you are a lucky guy!! Score! Wow! I never would have thought they would be worth that much! Just made my day... now if I could only find a buyer, LOL. So what is chcu? Im guessing its the condition, but what does it stand for and what are the requirements? Is there any sort of certification/verification that would help? Anything I can do to better store/display or just leave them banded in the envelope? Thanks again for all the great input! NeW-B
I know you are excited...and what I mentioned to you is right out of Schwartz/Lindquist 8Th Edition. However, finding a buyer at that price well thats a different story altogether. Most Dealers would not pay that and there are several value guides that report on a more fequent basis. Paper Money Values is most likely the better choice for you to look at..I do not have a current copy so I had to go with the reference I had at the moment. RickieB
So if I was going to sell them, what do you think I could actually get? Also what does chcu stand for? Thanks!
for that answer, and for the most up to date pricing, would be to check out the auction houses, and yes ebay too...
