It almost looks TOO good. The surfaces look odd. And something smashed the rims on both sides.

Where did you get the coin? Do you know if it is genuine or not?

Beautiful coin but I would get it certified genuine , everything is perfect except thre rims and dentils never seen a bust half with rims like that and that's a lettered edge coin .

From what I understand there is a ton of die variations with bust halfs. I am no expert. All I can say is the guy who I bought this from had a bunch of bust halves of different condition and each of them had one or more visible "oddities" like worn down edges, misshapen lettering and/or dates, etc. He also had tons of other coins - regular coin shop - so I doubt all of his halfs are fakes.

Maybe someone else can weigh in on this?

That's because it's polished. No decent TPG holders a coin like that.

Nice details, though. Let's see who breaks out the Overton book and attributes this one !

How can you tell that it's been polished?

I highly doubt that it's a fake , but with all the high quality counterfeits coming out of China one has to question , I have a '34 large letters PCGS AU-53 and yours is beautiful , too bad about those rims though but you probably got a heck of a deal .

Looks too clean , plus it looks like it has a lot of hairlines . Also no natural luster that I can see , but that could be the pics . JMO

Nice coin! The pictures aren't the greatest too much yellow. It honestly could look quite a bit better in hand.

    It's a beauty.

    As far as grade:

Minus a couple points for someone putting out a cigarette on her chest.
Minus a couple points for the dinged rim sections.

I really don't see any wear (possibly the hair above the ear?), but with the above issues, this coin should fall in the AU range.

It looks like O-107, Obv 7, Rev G.
    R-1.

    About the rims? No comment.

If I am wrong, I think that Jim will correct me.
