That's backwards -- the relief provisions are attached to the big bloated budget bill, not the other way around.

Incidentally, the Pakistan thing you called out? It was present in the original BBBB that the [political figure with the Constitutional duty to propose such things] proposed to Congress.

Honestly I wish bills had to be more narrowly tailored to really show everyone all the junk that usually gets attached to things. Foreign aid has to be its own bills and only that, education only that, arts only that, national parks only that, health care only that, taxes only that etc instead of these 5k page monstrosities that no one ever reads and everyone and their cousin has attached millions to

I agree wholeheartedly. No matter the party affiliation, we should all be screaming for this at the top of our lungs.

The sooner we get back to believing every American has a place at the table the better off we will be.

They have tried from time to time to pass legislation requiring bills to be single item but they never go anywhere. I think they prefer these gargantuan bills because it makes it easier for them to hide their pork and special interest projects. Single item bills would shine too much light on what they are doing.

  13. House just voted to raise stimulus checks to $2,000. It’s now up to the Senate. If someone were to use it for a coin, 1 oz. gold is now in sight if this passes. TC

Unlikely to get past the Senate, IMO.
