i have a $20 usd bill with the serial number 80809899 is that worth anything more then face value? bills in decent condition
I'm looking for a $20 STAR note series 2017 with the S/N NF 03200001* to 03520000*. I haven't even seen one.
Any note's value is what someone will pay you. I worked in a coin shop for about 10 years and did most of the paper. My boss, who has run a shop since the 1960s, was constantly asking me "what's this one worth". I'm on disability now and he still calls me with this question. My answer was usually the same. I don't mean to sound like a jerk but that is usually the reality. Serial numbers are a very specific audience to boot. Here's a great example of "what's it worth". Amusing as well. Before I worked at the shop I managed a truck stop then painted for 5 years. Shortly after I started I was organizing the paper money and started to laugh. The boss asked why and I informed him there was a nice $100 star note in the pile that I had sold him at least 10 years earlier for $105. Really. He had it marked full retail at $150. It sat there a few years until a guy came in from out of state and actually had that note on his list. It did have a small tear but other than that high end AU. We sold it for $106. I told my boss he was my hero. It only took him 10 years to make a buck! Come to think of it I made $5. I got that note at face value.
Don't be so negative amigo. I prepared a real nice dinner the other night at a cost of about 3 bucks. That buck was a third of a good meal. It's how you spend that buck.
