I am A Canadian Coin enthusiast but I have a stumper. I have a coin with KING EDWARD VIII - it is silver - the size of a dollar - the reverse of the 5 cent piece and dated 1936.

I know his coins were not official issue, there is no denomination on this coin. Does it have value?

It appears to be PL or MS.

It is possibly a token or medal? any chance you could post a pic of it. It could possibly have been a piece made for his corination :D

It is a fantasy piece in other words someones idea of what one of his coins would have looked like if he had indeed remained as king. So no it is not a coin or a medal :D For all that it is rather nice though :high5:

That seller is out to lunch... his stuff is waaaay over-priced.

When I tried to make him an offer on an item, he counteroffered with his original price minus a buck!

EDIT: I forgot to mention that the item I made an offer on has been in his store for months (there was a previous offer placed in September of last year), and my offer was within $4 of his asking price...
