Happy (almost Christmas) Birthdays, my Lord M and Robin! Did you two feel cheated when you were young because your birthdays fell so close to Christmas? Steve
Thanks, y’all. The Robotic Peter T. Davis also sent birthday wishes as usual, but @cpm9ball seems to have become a competent human Birthday Ambassador for CT. So here ‘tis, the Double Nickel (55). Post pairs of nickels, 1965 coins, or coins with “55” in the date, if y’all feel like it. Though my interest is primarily in coins that are older than me, I’ve decided to make an attractively toned 1965 SMS set (in PCGS slabs with TrueView images) part of my collection. I’ve got the cent and the nickel so far. Now I just need to find the dime, quarter, and half. Had to pay a toning premium on the cent, but it was worth it. The nickel just kinda fell into my lap soon afterwards, for a measly 10 or 15 bucks.
Item #1 on my birthday agenda: get this over with. At least there was a nice painting on the wall to focus on. Item #2 on my birthday agenda: solitary birthday brunch in a scenic spot.
Sixth (and hopefully final) round of vein surgery on my legs. Went fine. I’ve had worse root canals at the dentist. Walked out under my own power, albeit a bit gimpy. They do ‘em one at a time. Had the third procedure on my right leg two weeks ago. The left one got its third today. If all goes well, that’ll be it.
That's a pain, but a heck of a lot better than the consequences of leaving them untreated, which I'm sure the doctors explained to you in harrowing detail. Glad to hear you're already up and about, and hope the rest of your recovery is uneventful. (Is this where I should be enthusing to you about the joys of bicycling, and how you really should take advantage of all the flat territory where you live...?)
I think I shall have to give up my nonexistent dreams of joining the Olympic track team now... *sigh*
