Something very strange about his feedback. There are large numbers of negatives from single buyers - 11 negs from one, 26 negs from another and 63 from a third one. If these guys are so displeased why did they keep buying? Also there are at least 20 neutrals from buyers who were satisfied and pleased with the transaction! I'm not defending the seller or his cleaned coins, but it very well could be that other buyers are buying his stuff for resale and dissing him to enhance their own relative standings. I don't think he's misrepresenting his items; what you see there is what you get.
The problem is there are so many bad ones, and new slackers every day. On this site, the emphasis is on developing one's skills. Learning to recognize the good coins and the bummers. With that, you don't need a list of bad sellers; you'll naturally avoid crummy coins. MUCH more feasible.
There are several possibilities for large volume negative fb, among them: a competitor who is trying to drive customers away from this seller; someone who is sick of seeing the ongoing scams, and invests their time and resources to 'out' a scammer; a large-volume purchaser who who found out all their purchases were bad before they left f.b.
To much flowery language, he goes on and on and on, To much flowery language, he goes on and on and on about absolutly nothing that could be written for any group of Morgans in the world. Sounds like lawyer or Govt. official or something, ya da, ya da, ya da
I no longer buy from EBay. My last ebay purchase was a camera, it was broken and the whole deal was a huge headache.
Don't get discouraged Hey to the original poster....don't be discouraged by the replies to your thread. These folks on this forum are very well versed in all things coin....they are only offering good advise. Matter of fact, I have bought a couple very nice Morgans from members on here and they are some of my nicest coins in my collection. BEFORE you buy again, ask about the coin you are interested in....might be someone here has what you are looking for. Also, get yourself a good book and read up on your interests. As others have said....Ebay is NOT a good place to buy coins. The very few good dealers are hard to sort out of the "chaff". Looking at a poor photo and buying what you see is tough at best. Last thing, I have followed the rule of "buy the best example of a coin you can afford". Hope this helps and good luck to you!
Honestly the major coin auction houses don't charge the seller that much if anything. Sometimes if you bring them the right stuff they will give you %102-%105 of their hammer.... the buyers are where they make their money. I mean teletrade charges: $2,001 or more 4% $750 to $2,000 6% $6 to $749 8% ($5 minimum) and as far as this guy on e bay... I didn't see a coin I didn't think was cleaned.
Feedback I went back and read all the feedback left.I don't know if I would buy or bid on there Morgans.but that just me
Well I did receive a very nice DMPL coin from the seller. Looks great very few marks, super strike..clean fields, very frosty devices...and does not appear to ever been cleaned according to a local coin dealer I took it to. Said I got a great deal.
AJ: I saved that site: You just saved me a big headache. I hardly buy off ebay, but if I will I will check this. So I can put anyseller in there?? Right ON :high5::high5::high5:
Those coins are cleaned central. ALL of them. Harshly cleaned. Try buying graded coins from places like Heritage or other auction houses. For raw coins find some local dealers and buy a lot of books. Good luck. Send it back
