I would stay well away from those coins.

First of all if he had millions of dollars worth of Morgans - he would not be selling them on ebay. He'd go to an auction house.

And every coin looked at that he is offering has been harshly cleaned and is not worth more than melt in most cases.

I wouldn't go near that guys auctions.

i cant (and wont) argue with Doug lol but that soft, pewter colored look to the coin... not something i would go near. Listen to Doug :)

Well he does have a very high feedback rating and offers money back guarantee...

And the auction house would LOVE to see him, b/c they get 6%* + 15% = 21% = $210,000 on every $1 million hammer price :hammer:. Bring it ON !

Multi-million dollar estates are the kind of thing a guy gets an auction catalog dedicated to his sale (Huzak, Ed Price, Ellsworth, Naftziger...). These things are BIG SPLASH; never e-bay.

    Absolutely dead luster.

The dude is dishonest. Avoid like the plague.

    * OK, maybe less on these biggies

I would think it they were that nice with such high grades and so many key dates he would get them graded they would be worth more than he could get on e-bay he would send them to heritage. Ice

  13. Like they said, it's a pretty dull coin. Pretty worn too. See what you can do to get your money back. Then get yourself a nice 1896-O :D

I cringed when I read the thread title, wondering if it was a joke on ebay thread.

Not to be harsh, but listen to these guys, avoid that stuff bigtime. If you cannot get your money back, call it tuition and then in the future, ASK questions first....

And, welcome to the forum, and sorry for the hard knock intro, but you'll thank us later.

I joined CT a couple of weeks ago or so. I see these posts every day. I sometimes feel it could be me buying these coins. Would it be a good idea to build some sort of list here on CT with the ebay dealers to avoid, thus helping beginners? More importantly, a list of GOOD ebay dealers.
