    Fascinating.

Demand notwithstanding, I wonder why the drop in price. Perhaps they just forgot to change the rarity factor.

It may be the king of class VI doubled dies

It may be the king of class VI doubled dies for Lincoln Cents. There is a 44 that is massive also - It is one great coin. Doubled dies such as these are very rare
Mine is AU-50 and I would love to have a MS-64.
We know of at least 6 obverse and 12 reverse doubled dies for the series in 43-P,D, and S - there may be more by now.
This coin in a solid MS-64 with no carbon, no spots is really a $200+ coin all day long ans should be more.

No, I believe you have the finest known, I have no reason not to. This is a community with a vast amount of different collectors. Some knowledgeable, some not so much so, some rich, some not so, some humble... and apparently, some not so.

This is an incredibly humble community. We do not come here to SHOW OFF our coins, as much as we come here to share our coins, contribute to other posts, and share the same interests as those around us.
I am excited that you have the finest example of a 43 steelie Double Die, Heck, I am excited when someone buys a nice coin from me, because I know they are going to have a kick a** coin.

Instead of coming here and saying, "look what I have! The best coin in the world!" Why don't you try a more roundabout way next time, and ask opinions, rather then trying to force us to our knees begging you to show a picture. It simply will not happen. Not at this forum.

    Hope to see you around,
    Shawn

    1943 Doubled Die Obverse. FS-101 (old FS-018.97). MS-65 (PCGS).

Bright and free of dark spots on this important single year issue. The surfaces are lustrous and lack all the most minute signs of handling. The doubling is slight but discernable as abnormal thickness of the lettering of LIBERTY and of the date. Rather scarce as a variety, with PCGS reporting a mere 2 coins graded from this pair of dies.

PCGS Population: 2; none finer. Note: PCGS has graded only 2 pieces for this variety.

    From the Don Dorward Collection.

Need mre proof, I have entered this coin into my PCGS registry and it only shows 2 of them that exist, not only does STACKS say its the finest of out of 2. Now here is some PCGS proof, ill post a pic.

"THERE IS NOT EVEN A GIVEN PRICE FOR THIS COIN ON PCGS"

So your saying that PCGS & Stack's are both lying....

    I dont think so.....

    Hi Stella,
I know that sometimes people get off on the wrong foot. Welcome to the forum and you do have some very nice coins, and certainly they are nice to see. As a variety collector I appreciate seeing someone else, especially if they are young ( well the majority here are young to me) that likes variety coins also. It is much better to present your coin and wait for the praise ( if due) to come in. Much more to learn that way, and there is a huge amount to learn. There are truly experts on this forum for varieties, and all can learn from them. One difficulty, is that for the forum to protect our younger collectors, much information is not available, so no one knows, unless told by the person, the age of others.....except some of us are as old as dirt, but that doesn't mean we don't know our stuff. We can help you in the long run.

If you use the serach function , you can find a thread of mine on the 1960 D/D DDO, ( 025.5). I personally have more than 6 ( not bragging, just explaining that many coins do not go in for grading ). Earlier this month a person was trying to dump his collection of 320+ BU examples of this coin in 2 ebay auctions of 163 each. He only slabbed a couple and didn't the rest as he didn't want the population to go up and drive the price down. Best wishes in your studies!

Well, since you asked, I think from the photographs that it is a very generous grade by PCGS. due to the coin marks in the fields and spot, I would have graded it MS63Rd or MS64Rd ( most likely). Maybe the jump was due to perceived rarity. I have a NCG MS65Rd I will try an remember to get from the bank next time I go and to photograph it for you, and an ICG MS64RD also you can use for comparison.
