Hello and Merry Christmas. I am using this time to check on my coins. I found this one that has no info. It is Hadrian, silver. That’s all I know. Can someone tell me more about it... Mammothtooth. Rich
Merry Christmas! I think this is Hadrianus AR Denarius, Roma reverse Hadrianus (117-138 AD). AR Denarius (18-19 mm, 3.22 g), Roma (Rome), 125-128 AD. Obv. HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS, laureate bust right, drapery on left shoulder. Rev. COS III, Roma standing left, holding spear and Victory. RIC II, p. 359, 161. https://www.acsearch.info/search.html?id=3582634 OCRE: http://numismatics.org/ocre/id/ric.2_3(2).hdn.722
You're welcome. Glad I could help. For me, being a beginner (started collecting ancients in October) it's very entertaining to attribute coins, especially Imperial, 1st and 2nd century, my favorites.
I use wildwinds, acsearch.info, Numismatics.org/ocre. I also have the RIC volumes but I don't find they are very user friendly to identify a coin, I use them for the info about emperors, mints. I also have different books I check, such as The encyclopedia of Roman Imperial Coins (ERIC)
Would you be able to do the same with my Alexander 3 silver Tet ? View attachment 1224178 View attachment 1224179
I would recommend opening a new topic for a new coin. I also have a drachm I had issues with - check this topic and you might find some leads https://www.cointalk.com/threads/some-help-with-an-alexander-drachm-please.372092/#post-5306881
