What is the coin domination of Austria?
in 1904 what are the produced coins of Austria?
Which one is the most valuable & how much does it worth?

I saw an Austrian coin today, dated 1904, The dealer priced $50,I was exctied to see that price for an Austrian coin:bigeyes:

The coin is in XF condition & it's softly cleaned.

Today that is the Euro (€1 = 100 Cent); before that it was the Schilling (1S = 100 Groschen). But between 1892 and 1925 they had the Krone/Corona (1 Krone = 100 Heller). $50 may be much or little depending on the denomination.

An Austrian coin dated 1904 could be a 2 heller piece (bronze), a 1 krone silver coin, or a 20 kronen gold coin. Of these three, the 1 krone piece may be the one you saw. (The 1 and 4 ducat gold coins were also made in that year, but they are not in that price range either.)

(Edit) Some catalog prices of Austrian 1904 coins in vz, which is about XF:
    1 Dukat - €105
    4 Dukaten - €1000
    2 Heller - €12
    1 Krone - €50
20 Kronen (Au) - bullion value

1 Corona KM 2804, production numbers and value 1901-1907 according to Krause:

    1901: 10 387 000 – F: $2 – VF: $3 – XF: $5 – UNC: $10

    1902: 2 947 000 – F: $2 – VF: $4.25 – XF: $7.50 – UNC: $15

    1903: 2 198 000 – F: $2 – VF: 4.25 $ – XF: $8 – UNC: $29

    1904: 993 000 – F: $4 – VF: 8.50 $ – XF: $17.50 – UNC: $50

    1905: 505 000 – F: $10 – VF: 25 $ – XF: $45 – UNC: $70

    1906: 164 500 – F: $80 – VF: $125 – XF: $200 – UNC: $450

    1907: 244 000 – F: $30 – VF: $60 – XF: $100 – UNC: $300

In my experience austrian coins do generally not demand high prices.

No; when Austria was part of Nazi Germany, it had the Reichsmark, but at that time there was no king around. The Austrian emperor in the late 19/early 20 c would be depicted on krone/corona and ducat coins ...

If what you saw was a coin with an eagle, it might have been a 2 or 5 coronae piece. Those were not issued in 1904 however. Hmm. Did the eagle have two heads (then it was probably Austrian) or one (which could indicate a German piece)?

In this link there is a photo of the same coin dated 1903.
only 1903 & 1904 of this coin exists.

    it's 0.8038 Silver.

The dealer asks $50 dollar.Does it worths this much,I have no idea about german coins.
I remember it was in between VF & XF condition.

I just have to make sure tomorrow, when I visit the coin shop.If it is the same coin posted in the link.

The dealer showed me also other coins & said: "All these coins were part of a collection,The collection was mad by an old man who's living in Canada now,He also has complete sets of coins of Palestine,Olympics..."

The goos news is that this old man is returning for a visit to Lebanon this summer.
I am ready to buy that Palestine complete collection for $500! (if he offers me)

If it´s the coin in the link, production numbers and value is:

    1904: 290 643 – F: $30 – VF: $60 – XF: $175 – UNC: $650

I would gladly pay $50 for that coin even in Fine condition. If it is VF/XF it certantly is worth it.

Wow,what about the mintage of 1903?was it more?

I'm 90% sure of the coin I saw was the same.

I remember The obverse, but I was thinking it's an Austrian coin because Georg looks like to King of Austria. You know the facial hair.

When I turned the coin,I saw the same reverse, that eagle.I also remember the date was from 2 to 3 o'clock of the coin & it was 1904.

    I don't remember if it was 5 MARKS,FUNF MARK.

    ...

So I will see today,If it's the same, surely I'm buying this coin,I will also post pictures of it.

& it was in Excelent condition, XF++ maybe AU!
    Thank you for the infos.

    2 Mark KM 1257

    1903: 745 551 – F: $30 – VF: $60 – XF: $140 – UNC: $250 – BU: $550

    1904: 1 265 533 – F: $17.50 – VF: $50 – XF: $100 – UNC: $200 – BU: $500

The silver content is 10 grams

I don’t know if I would pay $50 for this coin, it’s too small. But I don’t think it is a bad deal, if you’re really interested.
