Yes, and it is - It's not on a foreign planchet, or copper-coated zinc planchet. Weigh it, and it will weigh 3.1 grams +- or 48 grains +- There is no error on that coin, I'm sorry to say.
Ok... I am coin roll hunting and a few rolls after hunting the one that I got the penny above from, I just found another one!!! Plus, I noticed something else... 1981 Cents are not plated. Some kind of damage. And/or chemical reaction. It was probably plated post mint and it came off. There are science experiments that are done to plate Cents with Mercury and other silverlike metals.
