Thought you might like to see some of what I have, first is my 42d/horizontal d jefferson au-58, 45 d/d silver jefferson, 1974D DD kennedy (found in circulation), and finally a 1954S jefferson, it looks similar to the 54s/d in the cherry picker's book but the lower left hand point of the D doesn't show, I am wondering if it is just a later die state, but if I looked at it with nothing to compare it with I would guess a 54S/S as the lower left upper and lower curves of the "S" are reproduced almost exactly, my cherrypicker book is old anyone have a reference for an S/S for that year? It definitely looks like a RPMM to me, not a clog or anything else.

I'm not certain. The S/D variety is pretty plain to see, in "Cherrypickers'" and James Wiles' "RPM Book". You may have a 1954-S/S RPM #1.
That does look more like it, yea the S/D is pretty obvious with the lower part of the D that sticks down, Like I was thinking it looked more like an S/S, but my cherrypickers book didn't have an S/S in it. And with my coin not being uncirculated it is hard to tell how much wear plays into it. Looks like I need to get another book!
FWIW, my Cherrypickers' has a picture of Jefferson Nickel 1954-S/S Rpm #1 on page #316. I have the Fourth Edition, Second Printing - August 2001.
