This is one of my favorite coins because it is a die duplicate (both sides) of the British Museum specimen BUT theirs is off center losing the right side reverse legend which they assumed ended AVG when my coin shows it was AVS. There are AVG coins but their specimen was not one of them.

Alexander III drachm issued by Lysimachus from the kingdom of Thrace, 305-281 BC. I got this as an unattributed coin, the odd positioning of Zeus's leg which is neither crossed, nor straight only made it harder to pinpoint the variety. To be honest I never heard of the name Lysimachus until last week, I thought It was a place at first!!
First step in tracing the coin- Typing in the terms 'spread' 'wide' legged Zeus,- totally unhelpful!
Second step- using the forepart of the lion as a lead, not much help either.
Third step- typing in pentagram (I simply used the term 'star' which didn't help me at first) along with the forepart of lion, which definitely narrowed it down! But, I still can not find this particular type with 'wide' legged Zeus, however I pinned it to Lysimachus, (as most other coins of his also included the word BAΣIΛEΩΣ under the throne).
After some tiring search on the net, going through various sites, online auctions, etc, I came across this coin from the NGC, and all the points perfectly matched, both on the obverse and the reverse, I even found out there's a letter Φ under the lion, although very worn in my coin.
Yet, I still can not find the proper reference for the coin!

So yeah, and sorry for the long read!
Next, post a drachm of Alexander III by Lysimachus that resembles mine as close as possible!

    Lysimachos Drachm.jpg
Kings of Thrace, Macedonian, Lysimachos, 305-281 BC, AR Drachm, in the types of Alexander III of Macedon, Kolophon mint, struck circa 299/8-297/6 BC
Obv: Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin
Rev: BAΣIΛEΩΣ / ΛYΣIMAXOY, Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; in left field, forepart of lion left above Φ; pentagram below throne
Note: circa 299 BC: Lysimachus marries Arsinoe II, daughter of Ptolemy Soter and Berenice I. In 281 BC, Lysimachos is defeated by Seleucus I, in the Battle of Corupedium, the last battle between two former generals of Alexander the Great. This battle took place in the plains near Sardis, about 100km east (inland), of Colophon which was on the western coast of modern Turkey.

I think most East Asian coins would count for this one, but this is a pretty uncommon emperor for Chinese cash.

This one is interesting for the funky toning on the silvering and the patina.
