?

Guess the grades of both coins--vote 4 times--twice for numerical grade and FS designation

  1. MS65: Coin #1 (1943-S)

  2. MS66: Coin #1 (1943-S)

  3. MS67: Coin #1 (1943-S)

  4. 5FS (Five Full Steps): Coin #1 (1943-S)

  5. NOT FS: Coin #1 (1943-S)

  6. MS65: Coin #2 (1945-D)

  7. MS66 Coin #2 (1945-D)

  8. MS67 Coin #2 (1945-D)

  9. 5FS (Five Full Steps): Coin #2 (1945-D)

  10. NOT FS: Coin #2 (1945-D)

I agree. I went 67 for coin 1, and 65 for coin 2, because of the terrible reverse strike.

Just wondering, if coin #2 went in for some restoration would it be more appealing?
I guess I can't tell if those darker spots are carbon spots or not?

Perhaps they could improve the eye appeal marginally, but there is nothing they could do about the strike, and I doubt they could improve the luster.

It's confirmed... I'm terrible with nickels!

I did grade the 45 higher, going with the thought that even though it is a very weak reverse strike, it was closer to 'How it left the mint'. Oh well....
