    You can be his outside sales rep :D
    Talk up his business and steer business his way when you can

    To me, that's no different than a stamp or coin dealer sending his wares out on approval through the mail. When I was a stamp dealer, that's what I did. It's all based on trust. There's nothing wrong with this at all. The whole idea of approvals is paying for what you want and sending the rest back. Stamp dealers have been doing this for a very, very, very long time.

    Well, I think it's a bit different than the long-standing practice of sending out approvals. Here's the difference IMHO: the approvals may hold NO interest for the recipient; there is always the hassle of getting them back by the deadline [trust me, I've forgotten to do that with stamps, books and videos]; time is wasted running to the PO and there are postage costs. There may be other differences, but those came to me immediately.

    At a local shop near me, they have huge bags of foreign coins. While I don't get to take them home and pick through them, the shop owner will gladly let me sit for and hour or so and go through them. Plus, gives you a chance to talk to other customers.
