Hey guys . I have this 2006 $1 that I bought for an Educational tool . It's a Copied Error Note , but I can't see how a novice like me can tell . I've looked for something assigning it as but no luck so far . Can you shed some light on this ?
Yes. These can be faked. Run a normal $1.00 bill through a copy machine and copy a reversed image of the back side of another $1.00 bill onto it. I hope you didn't pay a lot for it.
The engraved lines on a real note, that make up the overall design, are sharp and crisp. Even the better printers today can not produce that same sharp image. As Lettow said, use a loop and look at the lines that makeup the design. On a fake they will be broken or blurry (or both) at best, and will be dot like for the worst copies.
