I haven't seen that reverse die before and am not up on all the Fuld varieties and such, but I will say that's a really neat design.

What does the faint lettering above the date and below the Indian head say? (Is that lettering, there?)

I am not really sure honestly . I tried zooming in. I wonder if it’s the designers name

Yes, it says L. Roloff he was a die sinker from New York.

The small letters are the engraver/diesinker's name, L. ROLOFF. Louis was located in NY City. This popular die combo is an R-3. In XF, quite possibly cleaned/brightened, I'd estimate its value at $50-$55.
