RRD 2020 Year in Review

Your sextans is a superb paperweight and those coin weights are a very interesting piece of history: imagine the merchants they were used by and the transactions with which they came in contact. Very cool!

Do you think there was an internal rating that pulled our the best of the best? I can imagine folks fighting for the MS70+ equivalent of the owl.

Some collectors are willing to pay exorbitant prices for high grade Athenian Tets. The coin pictured below sold at a Heritage auction yesterday for $3,360.00 !. The coin is indeed an attractive example, however, I've seen other Tets that were far more attractive that were struck on a full flan (like your coin) that sold for half that amount . People do crazy things !

 

@rrdenarius I've always enjoyed your posts of the Cast AE and scale weights. You've obviously had a great year. It was good to meet you at the NYI RR Luncheon.
