Very nice I am going to come clean here. I went to Hodgenville Ky and got some of the pennies on release date. I got several in holders for just a few bucks and 1 roll. I feel bad I didn't post pictures and let you guys know but I put them in 2X2 holders and gave them to my wife's third graders and one to each teacher at the school. I still have 4 in plastic holders and a stamp with a certificte that says I got them on release date at Hodgenville, Ky. Ice

I really DO like the reverse design. Tells the story better than the monument.

OP: do you live in KY? Where did you get these?

The design looks much better than the pictures I've been seeing in magazines. I hope they do as good a job on the other three! I can't wait to see what next year's design proposals. I still want a wheat cent, just for one more year. Then they can retire the denomination on a good note!

cool, I didn't think they would translate so well to the cent size. I still would've liked a 2009 S VDB with wheat ears

What is meant by "type 1" on this coin? Did I miss something about there being different types already, or are you simply refering to the first design in the 09 series?

  18. There will be four design types:

I knew that. It was the "type" thing that threw me. Usually when I hear that used, it's in reference to multiple strike variations with the same coin design, not one of a series of different designs. I get what he's saying now, though. Thanks.

No need to be sorry. I always appreciate the help. Plus, I enjoyed the links.
