Actually, that is strange, The 6th edition is 1953-1954 The 7th Edition is 1954-1955.... so, which edition is it? The 6th is worth a bit more.
Yeah, my post was about one Redbook, not a collection of them. But some people collect them. And you could ask why they collect them. But you could also ask why we collect coins. There are various reasons for either one. To each his own.
Thanks, I'll let you all know as soon as I hear. ALSO, Note: if you ever want to research historical data, there is no better place to study historical trends of US coin prices.
In my mind, I was mainly wondering why someone might make a collection of something that is basically nothing more than a reference book, and a not really good one at that. The main thing that changes from one issue to the next is the pricing information, and that is out of date when the book comes out. Okay, I see, they're collected because they're there.
Ditto, I am interested in getting a copy aswell. You should sell some signed ones on the open forum:thumb:
That would be nice too!! Maybe sell some on open forum and then we could contact you to say put my name"___" on it or w.e:hail:
Thank you all for your comments. I believe that the current estimated release date is sometime in March (next month). Phew, this has been a long time coming. As for all of your requests, yes, we will make arrangements. [side note: there will be a limited edition, hard cover released. I am not sure, but it will be either #300 or #350 copies.]
I find no use for the Red Book other than to balance the coffee table leg. Overpriced and outdated info before it is placed on the market IMHO. Collectable? Yes. I bought a box of 20+ red books dated from the 60's to the mid 80's at a yard sale for $3 and sold them on ebay for around $30 about 3 years ago.
Just an example: Years ago and maybe even now people also collected beanie babies and spent hundreds if not thousands on a collection of them. They were nothing more than material stuffed and sewn together but they were worth something to somebody. Just as all other things that people collect.
I screwed up the title of the thread, but if you'd like to see some Red book errors, take a look: http://www.cointalk.com/forum/t48258/
