Aw, go ahead. Give them as Christmas presents.
I did with "some" of the Presidential series.

Only way I know if is to buy a roll. I had to buy a roll of "P" and "D" Bush dollars to plug the hole in my Dansco's. I gave another dozen away to fellow CT members. The rest are going into Christmas stockings.

I quit getting that type of mint release a long time ago. These are novelty items the mint uses to generate income. Personally, I don't look at them as real coins. Yes, they are legal tender. But, after you pay a premium for them they are only worth $1.

I don't disagree with your main point (and have no interest in these either unless I got them from circulation at face value), but to each his own.

Ebay would be nice. I am sure eventually someone here will have a ton and be willing to dole some out. I don't go for the manganese dollars, myself. I have just a couple of the early presidential dollars and a few proofs of my personal favorite presidents. Don't want to hijack your thread, Sal, but Ill post a pic anyway. They are hard to picture with my phone because of the frostiness. DB39267E-4375-475C-9B90-7910EE16FFBE_1_105_c.jpeg F4C049E1-BFD6-4141-A8CC-5B4AD5EF37AB_1_105_c.jpeg

Nice. Crush those staples or they will scratch any coins that they come in contact with.

Ebay is probably your best bet.

    i see one ad for P&D for 3.75 so that's 1.875 each w/free shipping

hard to believe any one makes money for this price ?!?!?!?
maybe they are looking for MS67 ?

I just go with the 'proof' enrollment (mint) with these. I don't need much, just a few, and though I'm getting hosed pricewise, the sting is lessened.

We live very close to Goddard and I will be giving these to friends who work there. Also saving unopened rolls for posterity (grandchildren).
