Was digging through a few rolls of pennies that i picked up today, and found this beauty in the roll, is this a die crack running along the right side of the coin? It looks like its raised metal to me just wanted some more opinions. 20201214_173254.jpg

That is a Ridge Ring caused by Die Deterioration.
    Worn Die issue.

    Not a Die Crack.

Ah i see, i had no idea, anyone know any books to read that have information like that? I have a redbook and i bought a book from whitman that is supposed to help with grading, but doesn't have the modern dies like the ones used for the quarter or the union shield cent.

@Vizzura. A good grading guide is PCGS Photograde. PCGS also has an app you can download to your phone called "Coin Facts" which includes photograde, price guide and pop reports.
Here's a link that describes weak strikes: http://www.error-ref.com/?s=weak+strikes
Error-ref.com also discusses many other types of errors. An excellent learning tool.

Ah Thomas thank you very much, i'll download it and take a look. I've been trying to work on grading by eye, but its hard when you don't have access to a wide variety, no 2 coins are exactly alike and i've really been struggling with mint state grading, its easier to work like the circulated grades for me, but getting into the MS grades seems to be where i'm struggling.
