I have over 50,000 pennies to go through even in same batch i found this one in has tons of 58s hope all came from same batch. This happened to be very first penny to look at. WOW. This would be only the 4th DDO on this date. Penny is BU UC and only has little dark spoting and sure pcgs will restore if they can. If not its a 65 66 if cleaned your talking 67 68 WILL SHOW YOU IT PLEASE PLEASE HELP TYVM. LET ME KNOW.

The OP's coin is a Denver mint but I cant see anything on VV or Wexler listings the same as his coin

Welcome to CoinTalk but sorry, keep looking! That is not a DDO at all! Better luck next time! ;)

Curious...what would that be considered if not a ddo? I think I would’ve thought the same thing as the OP thought...

Well, it's not a DDO because it doesn't have the doubling that it needs. On the real pic of the 1958 posted by @Bradley Trotter , 'IN GOD WE TRUST' and the word 'LIBERTY' are completely doubled. On the OP's coin, there's a little doubling on the 9 and 5 of the date but that's it. To me it's nothing more than a Lincoln Cent! :D

As I posted earlier, post #4, the OP's coin is a Denver Mint but it doesn't change the fact that it is still only a cent

As Fretboard says, it has to show true doubling and the view of the "5" shows "step" structure of machine doubling damage. A "true" doubled die, the top of each should be close to same height. Machine doubling , one part is shorter than the original. The '9' here shows they are the same height. IO, Jim 55dd0date-1-1.JPG
