I just picked up/purchased this coin. I really liked the cameo. Please tell me what you see and why. I need to learn!

WOW. Pending on how much you paid for that coin, it sure is nice.
Of course if it is to nice for your collection, just send it to me.

Please enlighten me. Grade? Negatives? WHat of the colors?

Brian, gorgeous coin! It looks flawless and beautifully toned! I couldn't venture a guess as to grade. Hopefully some of our more experienced IHC lovers will come have a look at it:thumb:

I'm not a good grader of coins but I'd guess about MS-65 or maybe a -64. Colors are great and appear to have been in an album for a long, long time.
The only Negatives are that the coin is not mine.

Thank you for the replies thus far. Will anyone venture a guess as to value?

I want to check what I paid with what the more experienced think......

ice Just happy to be here

I'm not sure of a value even common dates in your quality go for a pretty good price and with that nice color it will take someone a little more expericenced than me. It sure is a nice coin with great color. I guess I'll have to go with Carl the only negative is it's not mine. Ice

PR63 BR , value around $100 per Grey sheet.
Nice OBV. cameo . although the reverse doesnt have enough contrast to get a full cameo designation if it were to be slabbed.

Looks like it has some verdigris & possibly rim damage on the obverse.

    Still a nice coin, congrats.

Thats pretty much what I expected. I paid $150 for it and I always overpay so it seems right. I am going to send it in for grading and I will post what I receive for a grade.

Wow BUDGOOD you sound like a pro. How long have you been collecting coins? Or are you a dealer?

Hey if you like the coin then you paid the right price. Like I said its a nice coin.

I have been collecting for 22 years & have been a full time dealer for 3 years . Far from a true pro ,but I try to do my best to answer given the info infront of me.

Thank you very much for your free opinion. It is just what I was looking for. I dont really expect to be able to buy coins at wholesale value. I do want to learn about them as much as I can. I just get concerned that each time you reply it seems like your taunting me becasuse you originally had "joker" as an emoticon.

I am not really sure what your motivation is but if it is to annoy me I would prefer that you spend your time working on someone else.

Now you have it changed to "amused". Are you a forum troll? I know when I posted my Niles national banknote you were all over it in a PM until you found it was not as fresh as you hoped. We had a little squabble over it. I thought that was done. Please do not come to me to entertain yourself. I would like to enjoy this place and learn about coins.

Your opinion is apreciated but your silly ploy is noted. Please move along and let me be.

A proof Indian in a common date,

A proof Indian in a common date, Probably a 63 or 64 RB slight cameo.
A nice coin but not a rare one - price should be around $200 or less.
Not a bad coin at all but nothing really super rare.
I would hold it for a while and find one in 65 or 66 RD or RB and trade up.
Or just keep it as a nice example of an early proof cent.

I in no way mess with anyone on this forum.I have a very good reputation here .But if you want I will refrain from replying to your posts .
As for the emoticon . I changed it to amused because I was amused of your post when you did the play on my name. I dont change the emoticon when ever I post , hell I barely look at them.

I was just giving an answer.
Take care man- have a good one.

    One more thing,

One more thing I would not send that coin in to be graded.
First it's value does not warrent it. It's not that high grade and could be even worse than you hoped for. Now that's just me but I can think of no value ad in spending another $35 to $55 after everything to have it entombed in plastic.
Now all of you know by now how I hate TPG companies but even seasoned dealers rairly see any added value in slabbing coins worth under $300 - on coins like these it is the person that pays the slabbing fee that almost always loses that fee.
Find another one already in a 65 holder and sell that one to help pay for it.

What is your problem. You ask for an opinion, get an honest answer from one of the best and then you get upset at him for answering.

You need to grow a skin - let alone a thicker one.

Mr Budgood and I have history. I respect anyone else opinion but I do not want anything from him at all.

    Moving right along.........
