Any thoughts on what type of error this is. It has a smooth copper edge received_309022579793471.jpeg received_276243873316032.jpeg received_421985601901822.jpeg received_636825586768459.jpeg

That not a mint error of any kind.
    That is a damaged coin.

Reeded Edge was worn away. The rest is severe wear and tear :yack:

As you probably know already, that dime is 95% copper, and 5% nickel plating. So it was basically sanded or worn away so much that all that the nickel plating left, and the only thing that was left was the copper.

Totally damaged on all three sides, the obverse, the reverse and the edge.

Dimes are not plated. They are clad and minted from a sandwich of two layers of cupronickel with a layer of pure copper between them. 8.33% nickel and 91.67% copper.

Try to show some respect toward others when your on a public site that is meant to be for everyone. Your own actions are not saying very much for you, maybe you just need a break from this site to reflect instead of using your childish mentality to lash out at new members. If not, keep scrolling, you don't have to stop at our threads and throw your two cents in. And please stop referring to me as Doug. I am not Doug. Have a nice day!

I have the same error or damage look at the small point protruding in the center on the damaged side of mine. Coincidence I don't know I live in texas and wherever that other dime is I'm sure people weren't doing this to coins for fun on different years and states.

    Antonio.
Your 2 coins are both damaged after they left the US Mint. People do damage coins on different years and in different states. As a matter of fact all over the world.. Why? Because they are bored.
They are not mint errors of any kind.

    Sorry and welcome to CoinTalk.

@Antonio E Cavasos welcome to CT.

Many boards have different customs. Here on CT with a new coin, we prefer you start a new thread, with a reasonable title and good pictures instead of bringing back an old (and appropriately dead) thread.

That's just us - the customs of this small village are not the rules of the universe.
