    It seems WE ARE TOTALLY UNPROTECTED from cute little bushy-tailed intruders, because both of the sentries on duty are asleep on the job!

    Speaking of eating the bait...

    That triggered a childhood memory of fishing from a canoe on a lake in the North Carolina mountains. I was maybe eight years old.

    I was using raw bacon for bait. It would leave these cool little greasy rainbow oil slicks on the surface of the glassy water when you dropped the hook in.

    But I ended up eating most of the bait.

    Yes. Raw. Bacon.

    Hey, it WAS bacon, after all.
