Ok now that the title might have got your attention. I seem to have an addiction that another person here on this forum @rrdenarius has.
I know it is kind of crazy but I just seem to fall into finding and purchasing this same type of coin. These dont come along very often as it may seem since I have 4 of them now as of today. In case you havent figured it out by the title of the thread Scip,Scip,Scip,Scip. I now have 4 Scipio Africanus coins, hope you dont mind me sharing them with you all. I know a few of them have been posted before and am sorry if I have pushed these too much but I love them !
Thanks for looking and post your second punic war coins up please.

I'm with Brian, I can't get bored of Scipio! Your's are better than mine, but mine was a relative bargain as these go (I think).

Maybe you can fill out your collecting by finding one like this, thought to also be of Scipio?

Those coins are so fun! I haven't been able to find one in my range. Though am a huge fan of Barbartus to Scipio A all the way to his great grand sons, the Gracchi.
However, in regards to coins of the second punic war...that may just come up on my year end top ten at #1, if I ever get around to doing a non MSC one that is, would be this beauty... which coincidentally (LOVE that coin is in coincidence) is also a passion of @rrdenarius :singing:

A pleasing specimen despite its crudeness, with charming green surfaces. A test cut across Minerva's face is noted for completeness.

I sent an article on my cast bronze coins to the TNA magazine. I will post a link here if they publish it.
It is interesting to see how inflation (or a shortage of bronze) reduced the size of cast bronze coins during the Punic wars. The prow right series are usually larger than the prow left series.

I am really looking forward to your article, Gene!

My picture story is not as in-depth, but I took liberties in assuming that these Quadrigati fall into the same process. As Rome was LOSING to Hannibal, especially after the panic of Cannae, SILVER also became scarce. You can literally SEE the silver being drained from the coins...

I wish Hannibal had wiped out the Romans/ Scipio at Zama. Hannibal was a gentleman as well as a great General. gettyimages-1137091738-612x612.jpg
