This thread will be the 9th of 13 Jefferson Nickel GTG threads that I will post over the next three days. I will try to provide links to the successive threads so that everyone who responds to this thread will be notified. Each thread will start with the words "Baker's Dozen" as well so they can easily be found using the search function.

Please GTG of the 1944-D Jefferson Nickel shown below. I have attached a poll for you to cast your vote and you may select up to 3 different things: the numerical grade, Full Steps or not, and the + designation.

    66 5FS

My gut was the little flat spot under column 3 would knock it from the designation. I’m hoping I’m wrong because other than that they are some well struck steps.

That's the spot which made me think it missed the 5fs designation (forgot to vote on the steps though :banghead:).

I went with 66+ as it looked a bit better than a standard 66.

MS66 5FS on this one. I think it's close to not being FS under the third pillar (seems like the most common spot) but it gets there.

I voted MS 66 Not FS. IMO there is a separation of the steps under column 3 but for your sake I hope the grader didn't think it was enough to keep it from getting 5 FS.

I am also at a 66 w/FS. I think the mark on the steps is a planchet defect that didn't strike out. Depending on the in hand look this could be as high as a 67+
Very nice early die state. I like the surfaces.
