Need help identifying

I received this last year and I still can’t find any info on it... can somebody help me find it’s value? And what it is?

I would expect to find this piece in a coin dealers "_____box assortment" for $5 or less.

 

My guess is a centennial medallion. What's the size? Is it copper, pewter or silver?

 

Was it made in the year struck on the obverse?

The color, to me, looks like a lot of counterfeit commemoratives that I see. I don’t see evidence of it being a cast coin, though, other than maybe the motto, but that may just be PMD. The reverse looks like someone took a little time to make it a token, of sorts.
What does the edge look like?

 

I actually don't know the material but it's about the size of a half dollar.

 

I bet that that would be worth $10 or less.

Not much; it probably is something you'd find in a dealer’s dollar box of miscellaneous exonumia.

 

I wonder if that's how my grandma received it
